Description / FR 190b $10 1864 Compound Interest Treasury Note PMG 25
Compound interest treasury notes are rare. At the time of issue, these notes accrued interest at 6 per cent for a period of three years and as a result, most examples were redeemed. With only 109 examples available to own and only 1 in an uncirculated PMG holder, finding a nicer example will be exceedingly difficult to do. Unlike most Compound Interest Treasury Notes, the bronze overprint on this example has not oxidized and still maintains a golden tint to it. And best part is, when you turn this note over...NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS FROM PMG. Securing this example today may prove to be a good a very decision tomorrow.
