Description / 1797 H10C Draped Bust Small Eagle LM-3 PCGS AU58+

1797 H10C Draped Bust Small Eagle LM-3 PCGS AU58+ -  a stunning example of early American coinage that beautifully represents the peak of craftsmanship at the Philadelphia Mint during a defining era in U.S. history. This particular piece has been graded AU58+ by PCGS, indicating a coin with exceptional preservation and minimal signs of wear, and epitomizes its grade, boasting much more appealing surfaces than many Draped Bust half dimes that are found in MS61 and MS62 holders.

The coin's dominant surface colors offer an elegant mix of silver-gray and russet toning, with hints of golden iridescence in protected areas.

The 1797 16-Star half dime is a surprisingly challenging coin to find in grades of choice AU or higher, and there have not been any comparable examples sold publicly in over five years. The present specimen offers a rare opportunity to acquire a lustrous and original example of this desirable Red Book variety with ample luster and originality.
